Book Us
Interested organizations can book Street Spirits for performances, workshops, and special events. Streets Spirits charges a fee to cover expenses and a modest honorarium for our performers. Rates vary depending on event, location, time, and are negotiable.
Performances
Street Spirits can create a custom play for your venue on a subject of your choice, or you may select a play from the list located on the menu to the left.
Travelling Workshops
Bring our training opportunities to your community. Street Spirits Trainers can work with local organizations and groups to explore social concerns and establish programs in the community
Actorvism is the social action theatre form used by Street Spirits. The process involves the use of theatre games and creative techniques that allow participants to explore social problems in the world around them. Actorvism play creation processes allow participants to develop audience interactive performances based on the exploration work done through the theatre games and exercises. Performance is done in Forum Theatre. The plays created are usually short, 15 to 20 minutes in length and illustrate only the problems inherent in a situation. Audience members are invited to join the actors to brainstorm ways to resolve the problems in the play. The play plus audience interventions can create a theatrical event of 1 to 2 hours in length.
Train the Trainer
A roadshow version of our annual summer workshop, designed to assist in establishing community theatre initiatives.
Community Workshops
Our community workshops are designed to assist a community to explore a social issue through theatre. Our team of trainers will work with a group of local participants to identify the key elements of a specific problem and create an interactive performance using local participants as performers. The performance can be presented to the community allowing for an exploration of the issues and for generation of potential solutions to the problems related to it.
Combination Workshops Many communities have asked us to combine the two workshops. What we recommend is a train the trainer workshop first followed by a community workshop. Participants in the train the trainer take part in both workshops and, during the community workshop transition into being the group leaders. This process has successfully lead to the establishment of a number of community social action theatre programs across Canada.

Good day. I am the principal of Vanway Elementary School. Recently you were recommended to me by a parent who saw one of your performances. We would be interested in having a performance from your group with regards to peer pressure.
We are a K – grade 7 school of 300 students. We might do a peer pressure performance for just our internediate students (150) if the content were more at the level of 10 – 12 year olds.
Please contact me with particulars such as when you would be travelling through Prince George, BC. and approximate costs.
Thank you for your work in helping others make good choices in their lives.
Sincerely,
Bruce Wiebe

Hello, I am a UNBC student and with a class, I am organizing a Green Day on March 20. I was wondering, if you are available to perform for us (a play should be on any environmental or “green” issue) and what would be your charge. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you,
Miriam Matejova

Hi, My name is Camila Jimenez. I’m the chair of the Ridge Meadows Community Action Team. We are a group of service providers who raise awareness in our community about sexual exploitation. I would like to enquire about “Streetwise” and also having someone possibly come in and do a workshop with our group, cost etc. Can I get more information on what you have to offer that may be suitable for our group?

I am organizing a one day conference on youth homelessness for mid-November & researching facilitators.
I would like a rate sheet to help determine if Street Spirits fits our needs.
